Rod Clarke, RECL
Rod Clarke helps businesses succeed with IT. He brings a pragmatic and business-focused approach to the development of IS/IT strategy and the evaluation, selection, implementation and exploitation of information systems. Rod has provided consulting and education services since 1999, and has a client list including global pharmaceuticals, the UK Ministry Of Defence, a major consumer products company, global IS and strategy consultancy companies and major manufacturing software package vendors. Rod held senior management, project and operational management roles in three of the world's largest chemical and pharmaceutical companies.
Sarah Cobb MA Logistics and Systems Director, Moss Plastic Parts
Sarah Cobb joined Moss Plastic Parts in 1995, initially as European Logistics Manager but rapidly taking the position of full time ERP implementation project manager. She led the team that then rolled out the system to 17 locations, and subsequently added CRM (customer relationship management), sales force automation and business intelligence on top. Cobb joined Moss' board of directors in 2000 and now runs business systems, including customer service, inventory planning and purchasing and, most recently adding logistics. Before Moss, Cobb spent 13 years in a variety of manufacturing, supply chain and distribution operational roles in industries including aerospace and oil and lubricant processing. She was also Transport Manager at Digital, then the world's second largest computer manufacturer. She has a degree in maths from Cambridge, and is a strong advocate of using IT to gain competitive business advantage.

David Lloyd, Stadco
David Lloyd has run IT at Stadco, the UK's leading automotive pressings and assembly business, for the last 12 years. During that time he has established IT at 10 manufacturing sites in England, one in Brazil, one in Germany and one in Wales. David also manages all IT at the parent company, Acertec and has consulted to all other Acertec divisions in the UK. He was also the first Group Logistics Manager prior to recommending the formation of Group Supply Chain which released him to work full time for a number of months in Brazil. In an earlier life, David was recruited to head up IT in a division of Cegelec and for the previous seven years worked for Lucas Automotive across a range of IT management roles, ending as head of IT for Lucas Rists, a division of Lucas employing 5,500 in the UK. David also worked for Hoover at its plant in South Wales and for ASW in its early days.

Chris McKellen, Manufacturing Awareness
Chris McKellen is director of lean thinking consultancy and training organisation Manufacturing Awareness. He experience spans the machine tool industry, manufacturing engineering in the large scale process equipment sector, flexible manufacturing systems in heavy industry and cross-functional lean manufacturing and Six Sigma development in the automotive supply sector. He was responsible for setting up a new world class manufacturing plant for a global automotive components manufacturer, which is now the benchmark plant for quality and productivity in the turbocharger business. He specialises in modern manufacturing techniques and lean thinking, running projects across manufacturing, purchasing, materials and the supply chain.

Dan Roberts MA MPhil, Cambashi
Dan Roberts is co-author of the 'Cambashi Examines Enterprise Applications' and 'Ovum Evaluates ERP', report services, which analyse key enterprise applications vendors - their financial performance, product capabilities, services and future direction. Apart from tracking the leading enterprise IT vendors, he also has a particular interest in e-business and CRM (customer relationship management) technologies. Under his guidance, Cambashi won a 1997 DTI SMART award, which has led to the development of software for a new Internet research service for the IT industry. He has been involved in a number of EC-funded research projects and worked on operations research for supply chain software vendor Kewill Systems.

Peter Thorne MA CEng, Cambashi
Peter Thorne is responsible for consulting projects related to new product introduction processes, e-business and other industrial applications of ICT at UK manufacturing analyst and consultancy Cambashi. He works with IT vendors, providing them with independent expertise on matching their products and services to real industry needs. He has applied IT to engineering and manufacturing firms for more than 20 years, holding development, marketing and management positions with both user and vendor organisations. Prior to joining Cambashi in 1996, he headed the UK arm of a major IT vendor's engineering systems business unit, which grew from a small R&D group to a multi-million pound profit centre.

Lindsay Watson, Menard Engineering
Lindsay Watson is managing director of MEL, having been promoted from programme management director, responsible for the delivery of all client programmes in January 2005. He began his career in transportation with Plaxtons GB, where he specialised in the design and development of integral spaceframe vehicles' He joined Nissan in 1986 in the design and engineering group, responsible for interior and cockpit modules, before transferring into programme management with responsibility for launching the Nissan Micra and then becoming general manager of Product Planning for Europe. Watson has run a broad spectrum of vehicle and system projects and managed programmes in North America, Japan, China, Spain, Australia and the UK.
